The Mason Center for Social Entrepreneurship (MCSE) identifies, prepares, and empowers the world’s next generation of social entrepreneurs.
We believe they can and will solve many of the world’s most urgent social challenges. The university experience is a critical stage when emerging leaders are most receptive to the education, mentoring, and risk taking that will unleash their full potential as social innovators.
The Center is the capstone of a merger of pre-existing Mason initiatives with the Phoenix Project, a nonprofit organization with a proven six-year record of preparing students as next generation entrepreneurs. We leverage the incomparable energy of the National Capital Region, a global hub of social innovation, information technology, and policy-making.
The commitment to innovation at George Mason University, the Commonwealth’s largest institution of higher education, allows us to create an environment where emerging social entrepreneurs can turn innovative ideas into transformed communities globally.
