Social Entrepreneurship

Social entrepreneurs are individuals who seek to discover, refine, and employ effective solutions to societal challenges.

Successful social entrepreneurs understand the traditional theories, policies, practices, and challenges of the social sector. They explore new models and transformative approaches to pressing societal challenges, often while relying on strategies drawn from the private sector. Social entrepreneurs recognize opportunities for innovation and strive for sustainability, efficiency, collaboration, and scalability in their initiatives.  They use traditional entrepreneurship approaches and draw on best practices from other sectors to produce measurable social value.

At the Center for Social Entrepreneurship, we equip emerging leaders with the unique knowledge, skills, entrepreneurial savvy, and courage necessary to become successful social entrepreneurs.
